I got the idea of this portrait watching a documentary on history of
photography, where I saw again a picture of Nadar (1820-1910), a famous French
portrait photographer, and I remembered what I promised to Silvia.
The picture that inspired me is a portrait of Sarah Bernhardt, a theatre actress, made in 1864; you can find it in the University of Pennsylvania Library. My work, in the final form, is a collage of 4 shots, 2 black and white and 2 color Polaroid 600, mounted alternating the black and white pictures with the color ones. |
