Usually, if models agree, I prefer to meet models some days before we take photos, to discuss together the project; if this is impossible, due to the distance or other reasons, the arrangement will take place after a discussion by email. I usually take photos in studio in Milan (Italy), and the shooting session can vary from a few hours to all day long, depending on model's availability and their interest to my project. If the project is very interesting and the model agrees, we can do several shooting sessions. The shooting session starts gradually so model can became comfortable with the situation (especially for nude pictures). I usually work with an assistant, for the model security's and mine. A friend of the model, to help him/her feel at ease during the session, is welcome. For every shooting session, the model will receive 2 fine art signed prints (24x30cm) and 4 photos printed on resin coated paper (18x24cm); models will choose the images to print. If the final support will be different form black and white prints, we will arrange for some different images. The photographer will take all the rights of the images, but if models want to use them, for instance, for a personal book or to publish them on a web page, an agreement can be made. A few days after the shooting session, we will meet to discuss the work and the models will choose the images to print. The relationship between the photographer and models is regulated by a written contract, signed by photographer and models at the moment of the shooting session. During the first meeting we will discuss this contract and we could include some of the model's requests. Essentially, the contract says that all images are property of the photographer, who can use them to make fine art prints and sell them. Models will not receive any money to pose but they will get some prints as I explained before. The photographer doesn't ask money to the model for the shooting session and all the costs for films, studio rent or prints are charged to the photographer. If you want more information, you can write an email message to me at the address you find in the contact page; please attach a few images if you want submit your application. I would like to thank all models who helped me in my work. Often they are friends or acquaintances, someone has no experience as model, some have, but each and everyone of them has been a wonderful help to develop my work. |
